Choose how much of the project you want to move

If your current editor already holds the document, you may only need to revise one section and copy accepted changes back. That is a smaller decision than moving drafting, organization, and publishing to a new workspace. Test a complete editing session, including the return to your final document, before switching.

A daily allowance and a fixed credit pool behave differently

For occasional revision, decide whether you want a recurring free allowance or a one-time pool for trying features. For regular paid use, track how a normal writing session consumes the relevant allowance. Credit quantities alone do not tell you how many useful revisions you will get, because request size and features can change consumption.

When to choose Type.ai

  • You want story context and publishing options in a long-form workspace.
  • Your workflow benefits from integrated drafting, chat, and rich document features.

When to choose RewritePal

  • You want to improve an existing draft without moving your whole project.
  • You need the same rewriting controls for messages, paragraphs, and selected document text.

Compare with your own draft

  1. Take a section from a report or story that already lives in your preferred editor.
  2. Revise a selected passage, then bring the accepted text back.
  3. Check headings, formatting, and time spent moving text as well as the wording itself.

Questions

Is RewritePal also a document editor?

Yes. You can edit a document and proofread, rewrite, expand, or shorten selected text. It does not reproduce Type’s full story and publishing workflow.

Does Type’s free credit allowance reset?

Its pricing page says free credits do not expire, but also do not reset after use. Paid monthly credits follow a different renewal policy.

Can I move my Type project to RewritePal?

There is no dedicated project importer. Copy the text you want to edit; do not expect story details, custom rules, version history, or project structure to migrate.
