Is RewritePal's document editor really free?
The editor, local document saving, formatting, and exports are free. You can also try AI editing without an account. AI actions use a daily allowance, and the editor shows the applicable limit if you reach it.
Do I need to create an account?
No account is required to create, edit, save, or export a document. Documents are saved in your browser's local storage. Signing in may provide a higher AI allowance when the anonymous limit is reached.
How does the AI work inside the editor?
Select text to change only that passage, or leave the selection empty to work on the full document. You can rewrite, proofread, naturalize, humanize, expand, shorten, or give a custom instruction. RewritePal highlights the suggested differences so you can keep or discard them.
How is this different from Notion or Google Docs?
RewritePal focuses on a lightweight, local-first revision workflow. It combines document formatting with targeted AI actions, inline change review, and DOCX, PDF, Markdown, and text exports. It is not intended to replace collaborative workspace features.
Is my writing data private?
Document drafts are saved in local browser storage. When you choose an AI action, the selected passage—or the full document when nothing is selected—is sent for processing. Product analytics records the action and technical context, not the writing itself.
Does it work on mobile and tablet?
Yes. The document editor is fully responsive and works on mobile, tablet, and desktop browsers.
