Help with Mac installation
Which Macs can run the native beta?
Version 0.3.0 supports Apple Silicon Macs, including M1 and later, with macOS 14 or later. On Intel Macs, use RewritePal in your browser. Safari on macOS 14 or later can also add the web app to your Dock.
Why does RewritePal need Accessibility access?
Accessibility lets RewritePal read the focused text field and replace text when you accept a suggestion. Local grammar checks run on this Mac. AI actions send the text you choose to RewritePal.
How do I rewrite my first sentence?
Open TextEdit, select a sentence, and click Rewrite beside it or press Control Option R. Select tones such as Professional and Friendly, then click Rewrite once. Read the result and click Replace when you are ready. Selecting tones and replacing the result do not spend additional AI actions.
Accessibility is switched on, but setup is still waiting. What should I do?
In System Settings, open Privacy & Security, then Accessibility. Remove the existing RewritePal entry, add the copy in Applications, and enable it. Return to RewritePal to finish setup.
How do updates and account limits work?
This beta uses manual updates. Download the latest installer from this page and replace the app in Applications. Sign in with your existing RewritePal account to use your plan’s shared AI action allowance.
